Welcome to Our Health Journeys Website.
Some of you may have already noticed that several months back, we started a separate (but connected) blog page, under the URL belleruthnaparstek.com, to house all our archived content and separate it from the commercial pages. We were aware that while some people just wanted to get on the site, buy something, and get the heck out, others preferred to linger in the content and discover miles and miles o' research abstracts, Q & A's, programs, practitioners and inspiring stories. (The weekly e-news that subscribers get features the current week's worth of new articles. If you want to sign up and haven't yet, just click here.).
Things were getting unwieldy - we literally had years and years of weekly research postings, answers to questions, mind-body updates, and so on. We'd become a virtual reference library for mind-body practitioners, health consumers and grad students many a term paper and grant proposal found its righteous ammunition in those archives. But we had so much content, it was getting harder and harder for people to find the specific info they were looking for.
So we reorganized. Now you can find research, archived by method or by health topic. And the new search engine will also pull together everything we've got about a disease or wellness area you're curious about - people, I love this feature!! You can now enter "stress" or "diabetes" or "headaches" or "surgery" into the search box, and, presto change-o!! - you get all the Q & A's. research, stories, programs, updates, practitioners on that topic in a google-like trice. And you can even ask for the search to be ordered by most recent, most popular, etc etc. Dear Reader, I swoon over this function. It's enough to make an obsessive heart sing.
So that was the first part. We also updated the look of those new pages - which was a little weird, because now the new blog site didn't match the old commercial site. Now that's all finished, and HealthJourneys.com is now as gorgeous as the blog side, and ready for you enjoyment.
Please look around. Tell us what you like, and what you don't. We'll keep tweaking and fixing. By now you've probably noticed that we actually pay attention to what you say.
And I have a shout-out for this masterpiece. Dave Buchmueller of emediacy.net is a double threat. He does graphics. He does everything behind the graphics, like all the architecture and techie organization of info. He's also nice.
OK, look around, enjoy, and talk to us!
